NW Baseball History is Moving!
I am leaving Substack and moving to Ghost, but you likely will not notice a thing.
Hello everyone! I have newsletter news to share. I am moving the newsletter off of Substack and over to Ghost. From what I’ve seen with other newsletters that have moved, you likely won’t notice anything different. But I wanted to give everyone a heads up that the next newsletter will come from Ghost instead (I’d love to say it’ll be later this week, but I think it’ll be next week). You will not need to resubscribe or do anything on your end.
I don’t know how aware people (who are not chronically online, at least) are of what’s gone on at Substack. From the beginning Substack has offered monetary incentives for big names to come over and use the platform for their newsletters and writing. For some time now, they have specifically been promoting rightwing writers and seeking to platform fascists.
I write this newsletter because I love doing the research and putting the stories together, and the associations with Substack have made that less fun and quite frankly, even though I’m the tiniest of tiny drops in the Substack bucket, I just don’t feel good about being here.
I’ve already started transferring the posts, and I’ll get started on the subscribers today. Everything should transfer seamlessly and you should receive a post about Ichiro by Friday of next week. If something doesn’t go right, please reach out to me and let me know!
While we’re here, I want to thank you all for reading. So many of you have subscribed and I started this hoping I’d get a handful of people who wanted to read about NW baseball history. I am thankful for all of you! And to the paid subscribers, I really appreciate your contributions and recognition of the work that goes into this.
If anyone has questions, comments, or wants to reach out for whatever reason, I can always be reached at amandalanecumming@gmail.com.
Thank you again for reading, and I’ll see you on the new platform soon!
Glad to hear you've found a more suitable home for the blog. More and more aspects of the online world are turning to unacceptable alliances with the extreme right. I look forward to reading your work as you migrate to a better home.
Good for you! Substack does seem to be a bit sinister, but I kinda was trying not to notice, while kind of still noticing. I'll let you know if that starts working, lol.
